Swine farming does require specific products, however, and Ceva meets this need through the following products, among others:
- VETRIMOXIN® L.A. injectable suspension (long-action amoxicillin) for the treatment of affections caused by susceptible organisms, and more particularly respiratory affections, neonatal diseases etc.
- TIAMVET®: oral powder containing Tiamulin, a much-appreciated molecule in swine farming to treat digestive and respiratory infections.
TIAMVET exists as an oral powder or as a premix for feed. Tiamulin is an antibiotic (a substance that prevents the growth of bacteria or destroys them) that is not used in human medicine. This is a significant advantage as there is no risk of resistance of bacteria in humans to this molecule reserved for veterinary use. Tiamulin is used to prevent and treat swine dysentery caused by Brachyspira hyodysenteriae and enzootic pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae.
- COLIVET® oral solution (colistin). Colistin is an antibiotic known for the fact it does not lead to resistance by bacterial selection. It is also a molecule of choice for the treatment of digestive affections in swine, notably colibacillosis post-weaning.
All the other molecules that can be used on swine (florfenicol, oxytetracycline, spiramycin, penicillin....) are also on offer in the Ceva range.
